No host hotel for the 18-19 December finals: how to book Fort Worth

The Wrangler WPRA National Breakaway Finals run two nights at Will Rogers Coliseum: Friday, 18 December and Saturday, 19 December 2026. The venue page lists doors at 6 p.m. and a 7 p.m. start for both.

Three pages describe the championship. None of them names a host hotel.

Three sources, no room program

The WPRA release, the venue event page and the Fort Worth CVB record carry the dates, the venue and the ticket channel. No host hotel, no room block, no nightly rate, no cut-off date and no booking code appears on any of the three.

The agreement is public. The WPRA and the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo signed a three-year deal to bring the championship to Fort Worth. The release calls Will Rogers Coliseum newly remodeled, and the building has hosted rodeo and livestock events since 1936.

This is the championship's first Fort Worth edition. It ran in Las Vegas as the National Finals Breakaway Roping, and Wrangler has held the title sponsorship since the event began in 2020.

What the two nights cost to watch

Tickets sell through Ticketmaster. The WPRA release states prices from $44 to $87 plus tax.

The field is the top 15 in the regular-season standings on 30 September. The format is a 10-round, top-15 championship, the structure the WPRA and the PRCA introduced in 2020.

The release calls it the only event in the world where a professional breakaway roper can earn the title of World Champion Breakaway Roper. The first world title in the discipline dates to 1974.

The rooms within three miles

Road distances from 3401 West Lancaster Avenue, measured on 26 October 2026:

Home2 Suites Fort Worth Cultural District, 1145 University Drive: 0.39 miles. The Crescent Hotel, 3300 Camp Bowie Boulevard: 0.59. SpringHill Suites Fort Worth University, 3250 Lovell Avenue: 1.69. Fairfield Inn & Suites University Drive, 1505 South University Drive: 1.66. Courtyard Fort Worth University Drive, 3150 Riverfront Drive: 1.93.

Downtown properties measure: Omni Fort Worth, 1300 Throckmorton Street: 2.44 miles. AC Hotel, 101 West 5th Street: 2.50. Hilton Fort Worth, 815 Main Street: 2.54. Courtyard Downtown/Blackstone, 601 Main Street: 2.55. The Ashton Hotel, 610 Main Street: 2.59. Embassy Suites Downtown, 600 Commerce Street: 2.60. TownePlace Suites, 805 East Belknap Street: 2.91.

Ariat Arena sits 0.70 miles from the Coliseum, so one cluster serves both venues. Every figure is a road distance on the free-flow network.

Book refundable, then hold the terms

A guest books outside any block, so the terms come from the property: its cancellation window, its deposit and its minimum stay. Ask for each in writing before the card goes down, and keep the cancellation date where you can find it.

The second night and the Stock Show

The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo opens at the same complex on 15 January 2027 and closes 6 February. Opening night falls 27 days after the finals close, so the two events share no night.

The booking calendars touch. FWSSR publishes a host-hotel program for the 2027 run, live now, with rates and reservation deadlines in December: Staybridge Suites West from $119, deadline 11 December; Hampton Inn and Suites Burleson from $130, 16 December; Fairfield Inn University Drive from $139, 18 December; Home2 Suites Cultural District from $159, 21 December; Courtyard University Drive from $155 and SpringHill Suites University from $149, both 22 December; TownePlace Suites Downtown from $115, 26 December; the Worthington downtown from $199, 2 January.

Fairfield's deadline is the finals' opening night. Three entries publish a validity window that spans the finals weekend: Hilton Garden Inn Medical Center at 20 percent off the best available rate, Homewood Suites Medical Center at 15 percent and Residence Inn Southwest at 15 percent, each valid 18 August 2026 through 31 December 2027. The Hampton Inn downtown runs a different window, opening 1 January 2027.

Those are Stock Show rates, written for Stock Show attendees. Ask a property with a window that covers 18-19 December whether it will extend the rate to a finals stay, and ask which address the booking lands at. The FWSSR page lists brands and districts. The street addresses above come from the network directory, so confirm the address on the rate before booking.

Two nights, and where checkout lands

Both sessions start at 7 p.m. Friday's round needs the Friday night. Saturday's round needs the Saturday night. A guest attending both books 18 and 19 December and checks out Sunday the 20th, a morning with no session on the schedule.

No page publishes a minimum stay for that weekend. Ask the property to confirm in writing whether a two-night minimum applies to 18-19 December. Ask where checkout falls on the Sunday, because the drive home is the only constraint left on that day.

A one-night booking carries a question the property answers. Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday each spend one night of a two-session weekend.

Tax and the request

Texas levies a 6 percent state hotel tax. Cities, counties and special purpose districts add a local hotel tax that the local authority collects. The property quotes the tax-inclusive total.

hotelhuddle sends one request to 50-plus hotels in Fort Worth. Submission is free, responses arrive in 24 to 72 hours, and the hotel pays the commission with no markup added to the rate. Group quotes start at 10 rooms a night at most properties, and some from five.
