Saturday runs ten hours
YALLFest takes place Friday, November 13 and Saturday, November 14, 2026 in downtown Charleston. Entry is free. Panels need no ticket, and the organiser counts more than 25 of them. Almost every signing is free as well.
Saturday opens with a 9 a.m. session and ends when the Smackdown leaves the stage at 7 p.m. A guest who books one night books the night before that day.
Three sessions carry a price
All three paid sessions sit at Charleston Music Hall, 37 John St.
The Opening Keynote runs 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with Cassandra Clare, Veronica Roth and Tahereh Mafi. A general admission seat costs $10, or $12.68 with fees.
The Closing Keynote runs 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with Ayana Gray, F. A. Davidson, Sarah Dessen and Ann Liang. A seat costs $8, or $10.56 with fees.
The Smackdown runs 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Ryan La Sala and Kat Cho host it. A seat costs $12, or $14.81 with fees.
The three seats come to $30 before fees and $38.05 after them. Each sells as its own product, so a party of four buys twelve seats across three events.
The keynote ticket does not hold the line
Every one of the three ticket pages carries the same sentence. Keynote tickets are exclusively for keynote attendance and do not guarantee a place in the signing line for the authors.
The festival confirms the split on its own information page. All lineup authors sign on Saturday, some sign again on Friday, and a keynote seat covers the stage hour.
The signing rules set the sequence. One person may get three books signed by an author per trip through a line, and many lines do not allow a second trip. A reader who wants three headliner signatures plans three line visits around the two keynotes.
Saturday starts at 9 a.m. with a hundred wristbands
The first Saturday item is the Dark Academia Alumni Drop, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The page caps it at 100 attendees and hands wristbands out one hour before, at the event site.
The wristband line opens at 8 a.m. A guest who wants that tote bag needs a bed near the venue block.
Friday afternoon belongs to King Street
YALLCrawl runs bonus signings at King Street businesses through Friday. The first signing starts at noon and the last runs to 6 p.m.
The festival home base is Blue Bicycle Books at 420 King St. Books come from that store on both days, books brought from home are permitted, and the merch tent opens Friday and Saturday.
Two nights: Friday in, Sunday out
Friday, November 13 to Sunday, November 15 is two nights. The first evening covers the crawl, Saturday covers the program, and Sunday carries no festival events.
Checkout is the only Sunday commitment. A Thursday arrival buys a night with nothing on the schedule.
The four hotels the organiser lists
The Visiting Charleston page names four properties and gives an address for each.
Embassy Suites Historic Charleston, 337 Meeting St. The organiser calls it the heart of YALLFest country. It sits about 320 feet from Charleston Music Hall in a straight line, the closest of the four to the hall.
Francis Marion Hotel, 387 King St. It sits on the bookstore's own street, about 0.2 miles from the Music Hall.
Homewood Suites by Hilton Charleston Historic District, 415 Meeting St. The organiser places it half a mile from Blue Bicycle Books and close to most venues.
Hotel Indigo Mount Pleasant, 250 Johnnie Dodds Blvd. The organiser describes it as just across the big bridge from downtown. It stands 2.5 miles from the Music Hall in a straight line and about four miles by road.
Which hotel fits which arrival
A Friday afternoon arrival walks out of Francis Marion or Homewood Suites. Both sit in the King and Meeting street grid where the crawl runs.
A Saturday 8 a.m. wristband run starts from Embassy Suites. The walk to the Music Hall covers one short block, and the Opening Keynote follows at 10 a.m.
A party that drives in each day takes Hotel Indigo Mount Pleasant. The bridge adds four road miles to each trip.
A reading club or a class picks one of the three downtown properties and shares an address. The organiser publishes no room block, no rate and no booking code for any of the four, so each reservation goes to the property on its own terms.
What the page leaves out
The hotel list carries names and addresses. It carries no nightly rate, no cut-off date, no cancellation term and no block code. The ticket pages carry no refund policy either.
A guest who buys a keynote seat and then books across the bridge owns a seat that needs a car. A guest who books inside the downtown grid walks to every session.
The order in one pass
Buy the three headliner seats first, because each runs $8 to $12 and each sells as a separate product. Book two nights against the Saturday 9 a.m. start. Choose the hotel from the arrival day. Plan the signing lines for Saturday, one visit per author.
A party that needs 10 or more rooms sends one hotelhuddle request. It reaches 50+ hotels in the destination, hotels answer within 24 to 72 hours, and most properties set group rates at 10 or more rooms per night. Some quote from five. The request costs nothing, the guest pays the hotel directly, and the rate carries no markup.
