A Two-Hour Window on Halloween

Trick or Treat at Broadway runs Saturday, October 31, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Participating shops, restaurants and attractions hand out candy across the complex. The district charges no admission, and each attraction inside sets its own ticket price.

The candy window is two hours. The complex stays open until 9 p.m.

The Address and the Distance

Broadway at the Beach sits at 1325 Celebrity Circle, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina 29577, on US Highway 17 between 21st and 29th Avenue North. The district's FAQ places the property about 1.5 miles west of the Atlantic Ocean.

A booking at one of the three hotels on the district's own accommodations list puts the candy stops on foot.

Three Properties on the District's List

The accommodations page names three hotels. One sits on-site and two sit across the street near Legends in Concert.

Fairfield Inn by Marriott holds 111 rooms. The page lists complimentary continental breakfast and jacuzzi suites with king-size beds, on (843) 444-8097 and toll free (800) 217-1511. The hotelhuddle directory places the property at 3150 Oleander Drive, 29577.

Hampton Inn Myrtle Beach at Broadway holds 141 rooms, on (843) 916-0600 and (888) 916-2001. The directory address reads 1140 Celebrity Circle, 29577.

Holiday Inn Express holds 114 guestrooms, with a complimentary continental breakfast buffet, an outdoor pool and a spa. Reservations run through (843) 916-4993 and (800) 398-7231. The directory address reads 3100 Oleander Drive, 29577.

Ask each desk for the Saturday rate, the cancellation deadline and the check-out time in writing before a deposit moves.

What the District Publishes About the Visit

The hours table covers September 7 to October 31. Sunday through Thursday reads 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday reads 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. October 31 falls on a Saturday, so the shops run to 9 p.m.

Restaurant, attraction and nightlife hours vary by venue, and management may change hours at its discretion. A family arriving at 4 p.m. has five hours of shops and a two-hour candy window.

The FAQ answers the storage question: "Broadway at the Beach does not have lockers for storage." The wifi answer reads "Broadway at the Beach does not offer public wifi." Costumes stay with the family, and a phone runs on its own data plan.

The FAQ allows assistance animals and no other animal on the property.

Guest Services sits in the Key West Village area and answers on (843) 444-3200, the same number that handles lost and found. Security covers the property 24 hours a day on (843) 913-9310. Wheelchair, scooter and stroller rentals run from a desk in Key West Village on (843) 446-8723.

Parking, and the Rule That Shapes the Night

The district's group page lists free parking and motorcoach parking among its visitor services, beside eight restroom locations and a property brochure map.

The visitor code of conduct bans overnight parking on the property. It bans parking in non-designated areas and in fire lanes, and it states that violators may have a vehicle towed at the owner's expense.

That clause decides where the car sleeps on Saturday night. Ask the hotel desk which lot belongs to the property and what the overnight charge is.

Booking the Night

hotelhuddle sends one request to 50 or more hotels in a destination and returns their rates side by side. Submission costs nothing, hotels answer within 24 to 72 hours, and the traveler pays the property directly at the quoted rate with no markup.

The site's own FAQ puts group rates at 10 or more rooms a night at most hotels, with some properties discounting from 5. A family booking one room for one night sits below that floor, so the single-room rate comes from the desk.

What to Put in the Request

Three details settle the Saturday. The first is the walk from the lobby to the candy stops. The second is where the car stays overnight. The third is the last date to cancel without a charge.

Each of the three properties answers all three. None of them publishes a rate on the district's page, so every figure comes from the desk in writing.
