Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering: Book Friday and Saturday

The Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering ran Oct. 23 to 25, 2026, across the Fort Worth Stockyards. The organiser's detailed schedule settled the two decisions a visitor faced. Saturday closed at midnight. Sunday opened at 10 a.m.

Saturday ran to midnight

The Ranch Rodeo Finals held Cowtown Coliseum from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The Western Swing Festival followed in the same building from 9:30 p.m. to midnight, hosted by Jake Hooker & The Outsiders with Red Steagall and Jason Roberts on the bill. Both carried a ticket. A guest who left after the finals missed two and a half hours of the Saturday programme.

Sunday started at 10 a.m.

Cowboy Church & Singing ran 10 to 11:30 a.m., led by Brother Dan Roberts with Red Steagall, Jean Prescott, Kristyn Harris, Mikki Daniel, Hailey Sandoz and Danny Steagall. The detailed schedule placed the service at RFD-TV Studios, 130 East Exchange Avenue. The organiser's Cowboy Church page named Tannahill's as the location. Ask the front desk which venue the service uses.

Sunday ran past the service. Chuck Wagon Camp ran 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Livestock Exchange and RFD-TV lawns. The Children's Chuck Wagon Cookoff ran 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Chuckwagon Awards Presentation ran 1:30 to 2 p.m., and the camp broke down at 4:30 p.m. The Stockyards' own event listing closed the gathering at 4 p.m. on Oct. 25.

The two-night rule

Book Friday Oct. 23 and Saturday Oct. 24 together, and check out Sunday Oct. 25. Two nights carried a guest through the midnight finish and into a Sunday that started with a service at 10. A Saturday-only booking lost Friday's programme and put a checkout in the middle of Sunday morning.

Friday held a full programme. Chuck wagons arrived on Exchange Avenue at noon. The Cowboy Gathering Celebration ran 2 to 5 p.m. at Schaefer Outfitter, with a Red Steagall book signing at 2:15 p.m. Cowboy Poetry ran 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. and Cowboy Music ran 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at RFD-TV Studios. The Friday Ranch Rodeo held the Coliseum from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

A third night covered the whole Sunday. A two-night booking needed a late checkout or a bag hold, because the church service and the awards presentation both fell after a morning checkout. Ask the property for both when the room is booked.

The five properties on the organiser's list

The organiser published five properties, each with a street address and a phone number. Three sat inside the Stockyards cluster. Hyatt Place Fort Worth Historic Stockyards sits at 132 East Exchange Avenue, 0.30 miles from Cowtown Coliseum by road. Courtyard Fort Worth Historic Stockyards sits at 2537 North Main Street, 0.22 miles. SpringHill Suites by Marriott sits at 2315 North Main Street, 0.52 miles.

Two sat outside the cluster. TownePlace Suites at 805 East Belknap Street measures 3.37 miles from the Coliseum by road. Country Inn & Suites at 2200 Mercado Drive measures 3.15 miles.

The list carried no rate, no block, no booking code and no cut-off date. Ask each property for the rate on both nights, and ask what the hotel will do about a Sunday afternoon departure.

Parking and the midnight exit

The Stockyards district publishes no parking rate on its own pages. Billy Bob's Texas, two blocks from the Coliseum, posts its lot at $15 Friday through Sunday plus fees, on near 20 acres across Stockyards Boulevard east of Cooper's BBQ. That lot takes RVs and holds 22 handicap spaces.

Trinity Metro's Orange Line connects the Stockyards and downtown Fort Worth. TEXRail stops at North Side Station, 2829 Decatur Ave., off NE 28th Street. The bus stop at North Main Street and Exchange Avenue serves the district core, and the stop at North Main Street and 26th Street serves Billy Bob's Texas. A local day pass costs $4 inside Tarrant County. A regional day pass costs $12 from Dallas County, and the rail-to-bus transfer is included. Route questions go to 817-215-8600.

What the ticket covered

The organiser marked ticketed events with an asterisk and sold packages by night. The Friday Roundup covered the Oct. 23 rodeo. The Saturday Saddle-Up covered the Oct. 24 matinee rodeo. The Saturday Showdown & Swing covered the finals and the Western Swing Festival together. The Ballads & Brands Pass covered daytime entertainment at RFD-TV Studios on Friday and Saturday. The Two-Step Ticket covered the Western Swing Festival on its own.

Purchases routed through AXS for the three rodeo packages and through ETIX for the two daytime passes. The Cowtown Coliseum box office answered at (817) 625-1025. The organiser's page read “2026 Tickets Coming Soon” above the package list, while the Stockyards event listing read “Tickets on sale now.” No price appeared on either page.

The Coliseum's own FAQ answered the ticket terms. All sales are final and non-refundable. Exchanges may be possible depending on availability. Ticket prices and service fees are the same online and at the box office. The box office and the concessions take no cash.

The tax line

Texas levies a 6 percent state hotel occupancy tax on the room cost. Cities, counties and special purpose districts add a local hotel tax on top. Ask the property for the tax-inclusive total across both nights.

The booking, stated

Two nights, Friday Oct. 23 and Saturday Oct. 24, in one of the three Stockyards properties, with a Sunday late checkout attached to the reservation. That booking reached every ticketed event on the schedule and the Sunday morning service.
