The Cowgirl Gathering runs 12 to 16 November 2026 across two Texas cities. The barrel race, the team roping and the breakaway roping run at The Ranch at NRS, 309 County Road 4228 in Decatur. The closing evening runs at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Fort Worth.
The clock that sets the nights
Thursday 12 November opens with barrel-racing exhibitions from 9 a.m., the BBR Members Select 5D at 2 p.m. and futurity showcase exhibitions at 4:30 p.m. Friday 13 November runs the Cowgirl Gathering 5D in two sections, the first at 9 a.m. and the second at 5 p.m., with the American Qualifier at 4 p.m.
Sunday 15 November opens on-site entries at 7 a.m. and closes them at 7:45 a.m. Breakaway roping starts at 8 a.m. Team roping follows it the same morning, on the same entry window.
The tickets page dates the team roping 14 November. The team roping page and the breakaway page both date it 15 November. Settle the date with the organiser before committing a room to the 14th.
Monday 16 November closes the week with the Cowgirl Conversation from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the museum.
Three stays cover the week
Four nights, Thursday 12 to Monday 16, covers the barrel race, both ropings and the Conversation.
Two nights, Thursday 12 and Friday 13, covers the barrel race.
Two nights, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15, covers the ropings and leaves Monday free for the Conversation.
What the week costs to enter
The Cowgirl Gathering 5D carries a $175 entry fee, the BBR Members Select 5D $70 and the American Qualifier $500. Breakaway roping carries a $625 entry, and team roping sells at $575 a side. Barrel-racing pre-entries opened 15 September at 8 a.m. and close 9 November at 5 p.m., with late entries taken to 13 November and a late fee attached.
The Cowgirl Conversation sells three packages. The $100 package carries one seat, the welcome reception, a catered lunch and the VIP cocktail hour. The $1,500 package carries four of each plus four VIP seats at the fashion show. The $2,500 package carries eight of each.
The entry fees and the packages are the only prices the organiser publishes. None of them covers a room.
Where the partner hotels sit
The organiser names five partner hotels and recommends the Stockyards. Courtyard Fort Worth Historic Stockyards, 2537 North Main Street. Hotel Drover, 200 Mule Alley. Hyatt Place Fort Worth Historic Stockyards, 132 East Exchange Avenue. SpringHill Suites Fort Worth Historic Stockyards, 2315 North Main Street. TownePlace Suites Fort Worth Downtown, 805 East Belknap Street.
The organiser publishes no rate, no cut-off date, no group code and no booking link for any of the five.
Road distance from the museum: SpringHill Suites 4.03 miles, TownePlace Suites 3.41 miles, Courtyard 4.33 miles, Hotel Drover 4.37 miles and Hyatt Place 4.42 miles.
The driving days
Thursday, Friday and Sunday put a Stockyards guest on the road to Decatur and back. Ask the property what it holds for a late return on those nights. The Ranch at NRS books stalls and RV space on site at 817-569-7135, which is the question for a guest arriving with a horse.
The tax line
Texas levies a 6 percent state hotel tax. Cities, counties and special purpose districts add local hotel tax at rates up to 7 percent, and venue projects up to 2 percent. The property quotes the tax-inclusive total for the dates held.
Send the dates out to bid
hotelhuddle sends one request to hotels in a destination. Submitting costs nothing, replies arrive in 24 to 72 hours, and the hotel pays the commission, so the quoted rate carries no markup. Group rates start at 10 rooms a night, and some properties quote from five. None of the five partner hotels publishes a rate, so the request is the route to a number.
