The Dickens Christmas Show runs four days at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Three nights cover all four. Six hotels sit inside three-quarters of a mile of the hall, and a Thursday arrival puts a guest inside that walk.
The four-day clock
The 45th Dickens Christmas Show and Festivals runs Nov 12 through Nov 15 at 2101 N. Oak St. Thursday, Friday and Saturday open at 9 a.m. Sunday opens at noon.
Friday runs to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday close at 6 p.m. The four days add up to 35 open hours, and Friday carries 11 of them.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights
Book Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Friday is the only evening session in the run.
Sunday opens at noon. A guest who checks out Sunday morning keeps six hours on the floor before the 6 p.m. close.
A Wednesday arrival adds a night with no show hours on it. The hall opens Thursday at 9 a.m.
Six hotels inside three-quarters of a mile
The event listing carries a nearby-hotel panel with a distance on every property. Six sit inside three-quarters of a mile: Breakers Resort at 0.54 mile, Camelot by the Sea at 0.55, Dayton House Resort at 0.57, The Strand at 0.64, Roxanne Towers at 0.65 and Anderson Ocean Club and Spa at 0.71.
Carolinian Beach Resort sits on the line at 0.75 mile. The Patricia Grand falls outside at 0.79.
The hotelhuddle directory carries a street for five of the six. Breakers Myrtle Beach Resort reads 2104 North Ocean Boulevard. Camelot By The Sea reads 2000 North Ocean. Dayton House Resort reads 2400 North Ocean. Anderson Ocean Club & Spa reads 2600 North Ocean. The Strand, A Boutique Resort reads 2700 North Ocean. The directory holds no street for Roxanne Towers.
All six sit on the oceanfront blocks of North Ocean Boulevard. The hall sits inland at 2101 N. Oak St. A guest at any of the six parks once for the weekend and walks to the hall each morning.
Parking on the campus
The convention center campus runs 2,047 parking spaces and charges $5 a day for cars and $10 for buses. The Sheraton Myrtle Beach sits on that campus.
The floor inside
The marketplace fills 100,800 square feet of exhibit hall. The listing counts 350 plus period-clad vendors selling jewelry, crafts, gifts, toys, art, gourmet foods and holiday decor.
Strolling Victorian musicians, tea leaf readers, Punch and Judy shows, a historic Santa exhibit and a live Santa run through the four days.
Festival displays of trees, tables, wreaths, worlds and stockings go to silent auction, and 100 percent of the funds go to the sponsoring non-profit. Two floor games return: the Victorian Snow Globe Challenge with 100 presents, and Scrooge's Hunt for the Missing Presents.
The room request
hotelhuddle notifies 50 plus hotels in a destination on one request. Submission is free, hotels answer in 24 to 72 hours, and no commission is added to the rate. Most hotels require 10 or more rooms for a group rate.
Name the three nights, the party size and the arrival time in the request. Ask for the nightly rate before tax and the cancellation deadline in writing.
What the listing leaves open
The listing publishes no admission price and no group rate. It carries the hours, the address, the description and the hotel distances.
It labels every date and time subject to change. Confirm the session hours before a non-refundable room goes in.
