One hotel, two clocks

The 2027 National March for Life runs Friday, January 22, 2027 in Washington. The organizer books one property for it: the Westin Washington, D.C. Downtown Hotel at 999 9th St NW, 20001. Two deadlines sit 45 days apart. A group of 10 or more rooms must file its reservation list by Saturday, November 14, 2026. An individual room must be booked by Tuesday, December 29, 2026.

The rate the organizer published

The group rate is the current federal government per diem plus tax, printed on the page as $203 a night plus tax. The rate applies to every room, including triple and quad occupancy. A family of four pays the same nightly figure as a single traveler. A per diem basis means the number can move before January. Ask the hotel to confirm $203 in writing for your dates before you commit a room list.

The group route needs a list

Groups are 10 or more rooms. Each group leader completes the organizer's room-list template and sends it to the group reservation contact at the hotel, who replies to the leader directly. The template downloads from the travel page, and group reservations are open now.

November 14 decides the rest. A church, school or parish holding ten rooms names those ten rooms and their occupants by that Saturday. The date falls 69 days before the march and 45 days before the individual deadline. A group that misses it can still book individual rooms against December 29, at whatever availability remains.

The individual route

Individual reservations are open now on a separate booking page, and they close December 29, 2026. The organizer publishes no room count and no split of inventory between the two routes. It publishes its reason for the dates in one line: limited availability at the Westin. That line is the argument for filing a group list in November.

Rooms only

The organizer states that limited availability at the Westin means no meeting space reservations this year. A group leader plans on sleeping rooms. A parish that needs four walls to assemble in takes that request to the hotel's own sales office, and the request stands apart from the room list.

Which night to book

The travel planner prints the day's clock. A pre-rally concert starts at 11 a.m. on the National Mall, the rally runs at 12 p.m., and the march steps off at 1 p.m. The Rose Dinner Gala runs 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Westin, and it requires a ticket. Friday, January 22 carries the evening. Thursday, January 21 puts a group in place for an 11 a.m. concert without a dawn drive. The organizer publishes no minimum-stay rule, so the number of nights is a question for the hotel.

Getting in

The organizer lists 25 miles from Washington Dulles and 5 miles from Ronald Reagan Washington National. The hotel's Metro location is Gallery Place/Chinatown. For the rally, the organizer names three stops within walking distance: Federal Triangle, Smithsonian and Metro Center. The planner carries no fixed bus drop-off, because road closures are not published in advance. Coaches park at the Union Station Bus Terminal or at the Basilica of the National Shrine, and the planner sends groups to the DC DMV for a trip permit.

What the 2027 program drops

The organizer discontinued the March for Life Expo as of 2025. Sponsorship packages replace it for 2027, with video features and exhibitor tables at special events listed as the options and details still to come. A youth group that planned its days around an expo hall has no hall to book.

Four questions for the hotel

Ask whether $203 holds if the federal per diem moves before January. Ask whether a room list can be amended after November 14, and when it becomes final. Ask what the cancellation terms are for a list of ten or more rooms, including the cost of releasing rooms. Ask whether a Thursday arrival through Saturday departure prices the same per night as a Friday-only stay. The organizer's travel page carries none of those answers, so they belong in a confirmation email.

A second property

A group that needs a second property, or more rooms than the Westin holds, can send one request through hotelhuddle. One request reaches more than 50 hotels in the destination, submission is free, responses arrive in 24 to 72 hours, and the hotel rate carries no markup.

Decide before November 14

One question decides the route. Can ten rooms be filled and named by November 14, 2026? If yes, file the list and the December deadline never applies. If no, book individuals inside the December 29 window, early, on the organizer's own warning about limited availability.
