What the Block Carries

Neuroscience 2026 runs November 14 to 18 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, 801 Allen Y. Lew Place NW. Housing runs through SfN Housing, operated by Convention Management Resources. The list prices 43 properties. Single rates run from $205 to $399 a night. District sales and occupancy tax adds 15.95%, and an $18 shuttle fee sits inside every published rate.

The lower band belongs to the student and member Category I, II and III hotels. That reserved inventory closed to those registrants on August 24. On August 25 the association released the rooms for general sale to every attendee and lifted the advance-registration requirement for hotel bookings.

What the Released Rooms Cost

Comfort Inn Downtown DC/Convention Center at 1201 13th St NW carries the lowest single rate on the list at $205. Phoenix Park Hotel at 520 North Capitol St NW is $269. Darcy Washington DC at 1515 Rhode Island Ave NW and YOTEL Washington DC at 415 New Jersey Ave NW are both $279.

The band includes walk hotels. Motto Washington DC City Center at 627 H St NW is $289 and walks to the convention center, with Gallery Place one block away. Moxy Washington DC Downtown at 1011 K St NW is $299 and walks, with Metro Center three blocks away. Hyatt House Convention Center at 899 O St NW and Holiday Inn Express Downtown at 317 K St NW are both $309 and walk.

The association published no count for the released rooms. Online reservations draw on live inventory and confirm immediately.

Two $299 Rooms

Washington Plaza at 10 Thomas Cir NW lists a $299 single and runs on the SfN shuttle. Pickup is at the front entrance on Vermont Ave, route 4, and McPherson Square is five blocks away.

The Moxy at 1011 K St NW lists the same $299 single and sits inside walking distance of the convention center. At $299 the choice is a walk of a few blocks or a shuttle ride from Thomas Circle.

The shuttle runs every 10 to 30 minutes. Saturday, November 14 runs 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on a 30-minute headway. Sunday through Tuesday run 7 to 10:30 a.m. on 10 to 15 minutes, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on 30 minutes, 4 to 8 p.m. on 10 to 15 minutes, and 8 to 9:30 p.m. on 30 minutes. Wednesday, November 18 runs 7 to 10:30 a.m. on 10 to 15 minutes and 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on 30 minutes.

What $399 Buys

Marriott Marquis Washington DC at 901 Massachusetts Ave NW is a co-headquarters hotel and the top of the list at $399 single, $414 double, $429 triple and $444 quad. It walks to the convention center, and Mt. Vernon Square sits two blocks away on the Green and Yellow lines. Westin Washington DC Downtown at 999 9th St NW is the other co-headquarters hotel at $393 single.

Against a $299 room the Marquis costs $115.95 more a night once tax lands. Four nights of that difference totals $463.80.

K Street carries walk options below that price. AC Hotel Washington DC Convention Center at 601 K St NW is $325 single and walks. Eaton DC at 1201 K St NW is $329 and walks.

The Tax Line

Tax runs 15.95% per room, per night. A $399 single lands at $462.64. A $325 single lands at $376.84. A $299 single lands at $346.69. The $205 single lands at $237.70. The $18 fee is already inside each of those rates.

Four Dates That Set the Commitment

October 16 was the last day to cancel a hotel reservation without a penalty of one night's room and tax. A cancellation today carries that penalty.

October 5 closed the registration refund window and the substitution deadline. Regular registration has run since October 6.

November 3 is the last day to make, change or cancel a reservation through SfN Housing. From November 6, changes and cancellations go to the hotel directly.

Each reservation is guaranteed with a valid credit card or check deposit covering one night's room and tax. A no-show costs one night plus sales and occupancy tax, and hotels may charge an early departure fee.

Booking Through the Block

Neither the hotels nor SfN headquarters accept reservations directly. Reservations go through SfN Housing online, by phone, fax or email, and the online channel draws on live inventory with immediate confirmation. Registered attendees reach the same inventory through the Registration Resource Center.

A special request for two beds or a nonsmoking room is not guaranteed by SfN Housing. The attendee reconfirms it with the assigned hotel before arrival.

The Order for a First Meeting

1. Register first. Regular registration is open, and the advance window closed on October 5.

2. Take a walk hotel in the $289 to $329 band. Motto at $289, Moxy at $299 and AC Hotel at $325 all walk to the convention center and none of them needs the shuttle.

3. Hold one night on the card and read the cancellation line printed at the bottom of the SfN confirmation. Policies vary by hotel.

4. Confirm the departure date at check-in. Hotels may charge an early departure fee.

5. Price a group before signing single rooms. hotelhuddle sends one request to 50+ hotels in the destination and hotels respond with competing quotes in 24 to 72 hours. Group rates cover a block of 10 or more rooms. The service is free to use, and hotels pay a separate commission on accepted bookings.
