Two deadlines set the price
The 38th annual Run to the Sun Car and Truck Show runs March 18 to 20, 2027 at the old Myrtle Square Mall, 2501 North Kings Highway. Show hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Two deadlines decide what the weekend costs. Registration costs $80 through January 31 and $100 from February 1. The organiser also stops mailing registration packets on February 1.
Register the vehicle before the end of January. The entry fee stays at $80 and the packet comes by post.
What one registration covers
One registration covers one vehicle and two adult three-day passes. Entry opened September 7 on Eventbrite. The organiser states the show sold out in each of the past 15 years and caps registration at 3,200 vehicles. No on-site registration is available. Only cars and trucks from 1989 and older may enter, and the organiser enforces the year rule at the gate. One household may register three vehicles. A vehicle that covers two standard parking spaces needs two registrations and a grass-area spot.
The packet decides the arrival
The organiser mails packets for vehicles registered before February 1 to the billing address on the entry. A mailed packet lets a participant drive straight to the show site with the window card on the glass and the wristbands visible. A late registration moves collection to the Four Points by Sheraton Myrtle Beach at 101 Fantasy Harbour Boulevard.
That desk runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday March 17 and on Thursday March 18, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday March 19. No packet pickup runs on Saturday March 20.
Four Points sits 5.5 road miles from the show site, by OSRM routing. A mailed packet removes that trip from the first morning. Registered cars may enter the show site from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday March 17. Entry runs at 27th Avenue North, from Oak Street heading north or from Kings Highway heading south.
Partner hotels and their codes
The organiser publishes a partner list with a code, a phone number or a booking link for each property. Crown Reef Resort and Waterpark at 2913 South Ocean Boulevard takes the code Run to the Sun 2026 and sits 4.1 miles from the show. Landmark Resort at 1501 South Ocean Boulevard takes the same code, sits 3 miles out and holds trailer parking. Beach Colony Resort, Hotel Blue Beachfront Resort, Captain's Quarters Beach Resort, Sea Watch Resort, Ocean Creek Resort and Beach Cove Resort take the same code.
Five properties publish a different string. Staybridge Suites at 303 Fantasy Harbour Boulevard takes group code SUN and includes breakfast and a social hour. Hampton Inn and Suites Myrtle Beach Oceanfront at 1801 South Ocean Boulevard takes group rate code T32 and includes breakfast. The Sandbar Hotel and LaQuinta Inn and Suites Broadway both list group code 031926RUN. DoubleTree Resort by Hilton runs group code 90W.
The one walkable address
Dayton House Resort at 2400 North Ocean Boulevard sits 0.2 road miles from the show site, by OSRM routing. The organiser calls it a short walk to the event and flags limited trailer parking. The remaining entries that publish a distance sit between 2.4 miles and 11 miles out.
Read the code year before the deposit
The Run to the Sun 2026 string sits on a page for a March 2027 show. Quote the code exactly as published and ask the property to confirm it against your dates. Ask for the nightly rate, the cancellation deadline and any resort or parking charge in writing. Trailer parking needs its own question. Waccamaw Pottery Mall no longer takes trailers, and the organiser directs owners to A&A Storage on Forestbrook Road, the Pavilion Parking Garage on North Kings Highway, the Myrtle Beach Elks Lodge on 27th Avenue North, Barefoot Boat and RV Storage and Driftwoods Boat and RV Storage.
Spectator parking and tickets
Off-site parking costs $5 per vehicle, and 100 percent of the fee goes to the Carolina Forest NJROTC Booster Club. The organiser's info page puts the lot and the bus at the Myrtle Waves Water Park, 3000 Mr Joe White Ave, less than 2.7 miles from the site, with Coast RTA buses from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every 10 to 15 minutes. All buses are handicapped accessible. The schedule page lists spectator parking at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans Stadium, 1251 21st Avenue North, on the same bus clock. The info page states that Pelican Stadium holds no car show parking while baseball games run. Trailers are towed from the off-site lot at the owner's expense.
Advance spectator tickets cost $20 for one day and $35 for three. A military and veterans three-day ticket costs $15 and covers family members. Children 12 and under enter free with an adult and need no wristband. Day-of tickets run $25 for one day and $45 for three on Eventbrite. Gate sales are cash only at $25 per day. No three-day pass is available at the gate except for military and veterans.
Holding a block for a club
Registration allows three vehicles per household, so a club arrives as a set of separate bookings. hotelhuddle sends one request to 50 or more hotels in a destination at no charge. Hotels answer with quotes in 24 to 72 hours, and group requests cover 10 or more rooms. Ask each property whether its Run to the Sun code applies on top of a group quote.
The order of work is short. Register the vehicle by January 31. Confirm the code, the rate and the deposit terms in the same week. Check the billing address on the entry before the packet cutoff.
