SATELLITE Conference & Exhibition runs March 8 to 11, 2027 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. The organiser lists 15,000-plus professionals, 500-plus exhibiting companies, 6,400-plus organisations and 100-plus countries. The badge has a published substitution deadline. The room block closes on stock or on a cutoff date.
The show names one housing vendor. Its Hotel & Travel page reads: "Book through Connections Housing, our official housing vendor, to access the group rate." The request portal behind that link opens with "We are now accepting hotel reservation requests for SATShowWeek 2027!"
The portal carries its own warning: "Connections Housing is the only housing company authorized by SATShowWeek 2027 to provide housing services to conference participants. Please do not conduct business with any other travel or housing company claiming to represent SATShowWeek 2027."
What the block promises
The hotel page sets the block's own limit: "Group rates are available until the block sells out or the cutoff date arrives, whichever comes first. Rooms in the block are limited." Two closers apply, and the earlier one wins.
The hotel page publishes no nightly rate, no deposit term and no property roster. Rates appear after a reader selects an attendee type and searches dates in the portal. No nightly figure is quotable before that search.
Ask Connections Housing for four things in writing: the date the block stops taking requests, the deposit and its due date, the cancellation window on the property chosen, and whether the quoted rate sits inside the block.
The cancellation cutoff the portal publishes
The portal's event cancel policy sets a free cancellation window to 17 December 2026 (Thursday). A cancellation after that date carries a fee equal to one night's room rate, added to the individual hotel's own policy.
Two properties carry an extra term. Rooms booked at Marriott Marquis and Westin DC Downtown require a separate agreement guaranteeing the rooms requested.
The nights the schedule requires
Registration opens Sunday, March 7, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The programme opens Monday, March 8 with breakfast from 8:00 to 8:30, an Inner Circle briefing from 8:30 to 9:10, and the first sessions at 9:15. A Monday arrival has to clear an 8:00 a.m. breakfast, so check-in belongs on Sunday, March 7.
The final day runs Thursday, March 11. The exhibit hall opens 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and the closing keynote sits at 11:30 a.m. to noon. Checkout belongs on Thursday morning.
Sunday, March 7 to Thursday, March 11 is four nights. A Saturday, March 6 arrival adds a fifth night ahead of a Sunday registration desk that opens at 8:00 a.m.
The pass ladder beside it
Pass prices step in three periods. Launch rates run through December 11, 2026. Activation rates run December 12, 2026 to February 19, 2027. Orbit rates run February 20 to March 11, 2027.
A Conference Pass reads $2,199, then $2,499, then $2,799. The Inner Circle Access Pass, capped at 150 holders, reads $2,899, $3,199 and $3,399. A Tech Seminar Pass reads $799, $999 and $1,199. The Exhibit Hall Pass is free through December 11, then $199, then $349.
Groups of four or more on Conference Passes take 25 percent off the published rate at checkout, registered together. Groups of 10 or more go to the registration team for a custom rate.
The Orbit period opens February 20, sixteen days before the show. A Conference Pass bought in the Orbit window costs $600 more than the same pass bought at the Launch Rate.
Cancellations and substitutions
Cancellation requests go in writing to register@satshow.com. The organiser adds that if Access Intelligence cancels or postpones the event, it "is not responsible for airfare or other travel costs."
Substitutions run until March 6, 2027, in writing from the original registrant, and none are accepted onsite. A badge reprint costs 30 percent of pass value with a $50 minimum.
The badge and the room carry separate deadlines, separate fees and separate owners. A flexible room rate recovers the lodging if the trip falls through.
Getting to the building
The Convention Center sits atop the Mt. Vernon Square/7th Street-Convention Center station on Metro's Green and Yellow lines, and the show describes the venue as directly adjacent to the station exit. The venue's getting-there page names Gallery Place-Chinatown on the Red Line as a five-minute walk.
There is no public parking at the Convention Center. More than 3,000 spaces sit within a three-block radius in surface lots and garages. The venue states that parking regulations are heavily enforced in the surrounding residential blocks, and the show lists those spaces as first-come.
Reagan National is the closest airport and connects to the Yellow and Blue lines. Dulles runs on the Silver Line. BWI connects by MARC commuter rail or rideshare.
Price the tax before comparing rates
The District taxes transient accommodations at 15.95 percent, and the Office of Tax and Revenue states that the rate is extended through September 30, 2027. The rate covers these dates.
A $250 nightly rate becomes $289.88 once the tax is applied. Ask each property whether its quoted figure includes the tax.
The order to book in
Book the room inside the block before the badge. The block closes on stock and on a cutoff, and the portal publishes the cancellation deadline that follows.
Confirm four nights in writing at booking: Sunday, March 7 in, Thursday, March 11 out.
Record the 17 December 2026 room cutoff beside the badge's 6 March 2027 substitution date.
Ask whether the rate includes the 15.95 percent District tax.
Keep the portal acknowledgement. That record ties the reservation to the block.
