Garden & Gun opens the 2026 Winter Market at 21 Magazine on Thursday, November 19, and closes it on Sunday, November 22. Public trading runs Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. That clock sets the stay: the nights of Friday the 20th and Saturday the 21st, with a Sunday checkout that reaches 4 p.m.
The venue is G&G at 21 Magazine, the magazine’s own Charleston address. The organiser puts 45 or more Southern makers on the floor across six categories: food, drink, style, home, crafts and outdoors. The Thursday Night Market sells tickets through one link, and attendance on Friday, Saturday and Sunday runs through a separate RSVP link.
Three market days and a Thursday preview
The Thursday Night Market runs 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on November 19. The organiser calls it the kickoff, with a first look at the makers’ floor, food from 167 Sushi Bar, Lewis Barbecue, Ma’am Saab, Rancho Lewis and Sorelle, music from Jack Callahan of Grooving Violations, and cocktails.
A Thursday ticket puts the trip a night earlier. Add the night of Thursday the 19th if that preview is the reason for the trip, and the reservation runs three nights.
Friday and Saturday each run seven hours. Sunday runs four. A room booked for Friday and Saturday nights ends its stay on Sunday morning, and the market closes four hours after noon. Ask what the property’s departure hour is, and whether it reaches 4 p.m.
Ask for the late checkout in writing
Ask three questions at booking: the latest departure the room can hold on Sunday the 22nd, whether that hour carries a charge, and whether the answer depends on the room type or the following night’s occupancy.
Ask for the departure hour in the confirmation email, and keep that email with the reservation.
The event page publishes no partner rate and no guest-room arrangement. The lodging route it offers points at ExploreCharleston.com, which carries the city’s hotel listings.
Where the rooms sit, measured
Each address below is the property’s own, and each distance is the road distance from 21 Magazine to that address.
Belmond Charleston Place, 205 Meeting Street, 0.4 miles. Francis Marion Hotel, 387 King Street, 0.72 miles. The Ansonborough, 21 Hasell Street, 0.81 miles. Hotel Bennett, 404 King Street, 0.84 miles. The Dewberry, 334 Meeting Street, 1.0 mile.
Each of those five sits on the peninsula, and the longest road distance among them is one mile. A guest at any of them walks to the market and back inside the same day.
The same weekend, a second crowd
The Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic runs at TD Arena on Friday, November 20 and Sunday, November 22, with three games each day. TD Arena sits at 301 Meeting Street, 0.39 miles by road from Belmond Charleston Place and 0.56 miles from Francis Marion Hotel.
The two events share the Friday-to-Sunday window and draw on the same historic-district rooms. Book the Friday and Saturday nights before the tournament week.
Rooms for a group
hotelHuddle sends one request to 50 or more Charleston hotels. The request is free to submit, hotels pay the commission at booking, and the platform states no markup on the rate. hotelHuddle quotes group rates from 10 rooms a night at most properties and from five at some, with responses inside 24 to 72 hours.
Give the property the Sunday departure time inside the same request. A block that ends at noon on the 22nd and a party that wants the floor until 4 p.m. are two different requests, and the hotel prices them differently.
The tax line
South Carolina charges a 5 percent sales tax and a 2 percent accommodations tax on a room rental, and local governments may add up to 3 percent more. Ask each property for the tax-inclusive nightly total across both nights, and compare that figure across the offers.
The sequence
Reserve Friday the 20th and Saturday the 21st. Ask for a Sunday departure at 4 p.m. and get the hour in writing. Add Thursday the 19th if the Night Market preview is on the plan. Use the organiser’s two links to claim the weekend RSVP and buy the Thursday ticket.
